LINKS
Forge Mill Needle Museum in Redditch is an
unusual and fascinating place to visit. This
historic site illustrates the rich heritage of
the needle and fishing tackle industries.
On the same site, just a very short walk
from Forge Mill Museum, are the ruins of
Bordesley Abbey – a medieval Cistercian
Abbey .

Tthe history of the town is much related to
the Industrial Revolution in England and its
products were known throughout the world.
These includedneedles, fishing tackle,
batteries, springs,motorbikes and other light
industrial products. The aim of this site is to
give an introduction to the various aspects
of the town’s history using a range of ‘
pocket history’ presentations.

We support our town museum, which
covers the early development of the area
with exhibitions of the history of the town
from early times to the present day. We
help in providing refreshments, helping in
the shop, assisting at events, organising
the annual Heritage Day and providing
guided tours of the Needle Mill and
Bordesley Abbey.
